Baby Fish, Doot Doot, Doot, Doot

Somehow, a baby fish has appeared in my fish tank. Not that I don't know where baby fish come from. In fact, I'm glad someone is getting some action around here.

I see babies in there every once in a while, but they tend to disappear within a few days. They either get eaten by the bigger fish or by this guy:

But this little one has been around for almost two weeks. I hate to jinx it by naming him (or her) but I think he/she just might make it. So please welcome to the tank: Baby Fishmouth

Please ignore the Scary Algae Problem.

Cute with Chris

One of the sites I visit regularly is Cute with Chris. It's basically pictures of puppies and kittens and other disgustingly cute things that the host makes fun of. Chris's sense of humor is totally whacked out and generally off-color. They recently reposted this Christmas episode and I thought I would share it as there's no swearing or anything TOO disgusting. Except for cat barf. And maybe some questionable use of tinsel.

If you're not easily offended, go check it out. If you ARE easily offended, just stare at this for awhile.

More puppies

I must be feeling lonely. I'm doing another post about pets. But I found this breed I'd never heard of before. Apparently someone mixed a Jack Russell terrier and a beagle. They're called Jackabees. I want one just so I can say, "I have a Jackabee." And then people could say, "You have a what-abee?" Ha ha ha ha ha! Wouldn't that be funny?

Okay, I admit I'm easily amused. But look, they're so cute!

*I decided I should start crediting my pictures so the Copyright Police don't come for me. I started having nightmares.

Puppy Cam!

This is the cutest thing ever!!!! It was recorded just yesterday.

Free video chat by Ustream

Kathy sent me the link to watch these adorable Shiba Inu puppies by live feed. They are pretty calm during the afternoon. It seems they are most active in the evenings if you want to see them up and chewing, wrestling, playing, eating, etc.

It is absolutely addicting. I can sit and watch them forever. So beware. If you click this you may spend hours in front of your computer watching puppies sleep.

Meow

I would really like to have a cat. Actually, I'm more of a dog person, but I just don't have the time or space a dog deserves. So for a while now, I've been wanting a female, medium haired, black and white, adult cat I could call my own. This is a picture of Opal, the cat I was coveting a while back who was up for adoption at a local animal shelter. Opal has already been adopted. Pretty sad that I've kept the picture of this cute cat I can't have. Because despite some begging, my building has a no pets lease. I've thought about suggesting a ridiculously large pet deposit or just outright bribing my landlord. I may still try these two tactics, as I really like where I live and I hate the moving process. Especially since I've been here for eight years now. (Can you believe it? That seems like such a long time!) I keep saying that at some point I want to buy a house in this area, but I am really overwhelmed by how much of a commitment that is for just me, and the added expenses involved in home ownership. Plus, I love that when something breaks in my apartment I just call the landlord to whine and it gets fixed quickly and for free.

But I think it would be really nice, especially on the lonely days, to have something to love me. Of course, this is a cat we're talking about, so that may be too much to ask!
